THE BIG SPIN FOR TINY BABIES

WELCOME!

Earlier this year our baby daughter, Sienna was born 4 weeks early weighing a tiny 3 pounds. As Sienna was so little, she was admitted to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at The Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. After 5 days in hospital I was discharged without Sienna, who needed to stay in SCBU a while longer until she was strong enough to come home. The hardest thing I have ever had to do was to go home without my baby, it felt like I had left a piece of my heart behind. 

The support, care and love that Sienna, her Daddy and I were shown by all the nurses and volunteers during her time in SCBU was truly amazing. This is why we decided we had to support the Royal Surrey Hospital #ClosertoCare campaign, which aims to transform care for babies who are treated in SCBU.  Parents with babies being treated in SCBU cannot currently stay overnight, due to limited space. It needs to raise £500,000 to redevelop SCBU, so that parents can stay, next to their babies’ cots.

So, on Saturday 12th October 2019, we'll be holding an epic 8 hour long spin marathon at the fabulous CYC:D Fitness Studio in Haslemere.
